Baronial Changeover 2025

Greetings unto the populace of the Barony of St Florian de la Riviere,

As many prepare for the journey to Rowany Festival we are able to bring you glad tidings of the results of the search for your next Baron and Baroness.

Count Stephen Aldred did great work co-ordinating the Baronial Succession and through his efforts we have been well advised as to the Barony’s wishes. It is clear that St Florian is looking forward to welcoming Sir Gustaf Rikardsson and THL Kathelyne Berghart as it’s next Baron and Baroness when William and Lovet step down.

We received advice from many of the populace of your noble Barony and we were well pleased that so many of you took the time to share your views. We thank you all for your words.

Putting yourself forward as representatives for the role of Baron or Baroness is a hard task and we are grateful to THL Kamara Skleraina and Lord Sebastian Tockler, and Lady Eydis Ragnarsdottir and Lady Cristin verch Reys for their service to the group and their willingness to step up and lead the Barony.

This decision is supported by Their Highnesses Ariston and Jochen and the changeover is expected to happen at this year’s Great Northern War on 6-9 June and will be proclaimed officially at Rowany Festival.

The Process

The full schedule for the Baronial succession process is given below:

1. Intention to step-down announced 18 January
2. Nominations opened: 1 February
3. Nominations close: 21 February
4. Candidates announced: 25 February
5. 17 March 7pm Baronial succession Q&A session at Monday night gathering – to be livestreamed for offsite attendees
6. Poll opens: 18 March
7. Poll closes: 31 March
8. Crown & Heirs decide succession: by Festival, with a public announcement either before or during Festival (16-21 April)
9. Investiture: GNW, 6-9 June
