Sir Alaric of Bangor

Did you know…

Sir Alaric joined the SCA in September 1989 and is one of the founding members of the Barony of St Florian de la Riviere. His first award was a Leaf of Merit in 1992 (and has never received an AOA)

He has served in several officer capacities for both River Haven and St Florian, as Marshal of both groups and Seneschal for St Florian de la Riviere. He has also been responsible for filling our bellies with great food and working hard to create events that we enjoyed.

Sir Alaric was squired to Sir Sebastian of Ventbarre and was knighted in August 1997. He has served countless times as Baronial Champion of River Haven and was the first Champion of St Florian de la Riviere, fought in September 2001. Alaric is one of the inaugural members of the Order of St Florian.

Alaric reigned as Prince of Lochac with his wife Nerissa de Saye between September 1996 and January 1997. He has ruled as King of Lochac with Nerissa between July 2003 and January 2004, and as King of Drachenvwald with Nerissa between June 2007 and January 2008. (Europe) During his Duchy ceremony he was granted the epithet, “The Jolly Duke”. Alaric and Nerissa served as the last vice reign of Insulae Draconis prior to the group becoming a Principality (United Kingdom, Ireland and Iceland)

Alaric was laurelled for Roman cooking in December 2010, and a Pelican in 2019. Alaric is also a member of the royal peerage (Viscount and Duke).

Sir Alaric is renown for his amazing food that delights and his prowess on the field that gives fright. (Giggling death!) You will find him in the Jolly Duke Tavern where you will be treated with the best of hospitality.
