GNW New Site

Costing information had been received from Camp Warrawee.  Unfortunately, the confirmed costing greatly exceeded what was provided at the site visit.  This would have resulted in a cost of $200 per person minimum for the event and more for dorm rooms.  While it is a good site it is felt that this is too large a cost and would put the event out of reach of a lot of people.

Henri is contacting the site to do one final follow up on costs based on what was discussed on site.  The feeling is site won’t reduce the camp fees sufficiently to get the event to run under at least $150 per person which we feel was the absolute most that was suitable event cost.

Note that the cost discussed on site was $13/person/night.  BP park was $10/person/night. The site did say they may have to increase slightly if there was no catering to make sure they met their profits.  At $15/person/night the event would still stack up. Site came back with $30/person/night.

Assuming site won’t come down to our required pricing rate we will get our deposit back.  An alternative green field site is currently being investigated with a proposed budget to be discussed on the January 16th Baronial meeting.  Assuming these numbers stack up the proposal will be distributed to the baronies for review before the meeting.

Rufus 12 Tourneys

The first of Rufus 12 tourneys was approved.  This is a $3 potluck afternoon tourney in a park at Carina.  This was approved at this meeting to give time to advertise before the next Baronial meeting.  The subsequent tourneys will be reviewed and approved in the normal Baronial Meetings.
